Account Representative

Kanak Naturals is seeking an Account Executive for our sustainable dining products group based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is a fast-paced sales opportunity for someone who can engage with regional and national clients in the dining / restaurant, entertainment, and sporting venue segments.
In this role, you will be introducing potential clients to Kanak Naturals’ line of compostable paper/fiber-based straws, serving trays, and other green/sustainable dining products. This role requires that the Account Executive be based at our Fort Wayne location.
Job responsibilities and expectations:
- Excellent personal communication skills, both verbal and written
- A successful track record in business-to-business sales
- Experience representing alternatives to currently-used products – the ability to articulate product features and the benefit of incorporating them into a client’s business model(s)
- Have a positive team attitude
- Ability to travel as needed – both domestic and internationally
Experience and requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years successful business-to-business sales experience
- A background selling products to the food service, food container, restaurant, or hospitality/event center industries is desired
- Strong product sales ability / capable of mastering technical product details and presenting new concepts to prospects in established industries
- A four-year degree is a plus, but applicable experience will be considered in lieu of education
- Must be located in NE Indiana, or be willing to relocate to that location

Driver – Local Haul
Do you love driving a truck but hate the nights spent away from home? You might flourish in our open position for a local / area Truck Driver. We’re looking for a safe, courteous driver who values a predictable schedule. Our company makes safety our number one priority, which is reflected in our impeccable safety record.
Serving clients throughout the Midwest, Kontinental Logistics is a privately-owned part of the Kanak family of businesses. Our drivers deliver products to our regional clients, returning home daily.
Duties in this role include:
- Practice safe driving habits / highway courtesy at all times
- Check vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.
- Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.
- Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
Qualified candidates for this opportunity will have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 3 years-experience driving tractor-trailer rig
- Hold a current Class A license
- Clean driving record

Purchasing Agent/Buyer

Kanak, distributors and manufacturers of compostable dinnerware, restaurant furnishings, cabinetry, and other items, has an opportunity available for an experienced Purchasing Agent / Buyer.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities:
- Conduct market research – find sources for materials and products.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors
- Negotiate with potential vendors to establish best price per item
- Coordinate deliveries to meet operations needs
Qualified candidates will have the following skills and experience:
- Interest in the sourcing of and purchasing of industrial products
- Able to handle multiple projects
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Good negotiation skills
