For our clear products and linings, we use Ingeo™ PLA, which originally comes from starchy plants like corn, grown right here in the U.S. These products perform just like traditional clear plastic, but with the crucial benefit of being 100% compostable in commercial compost facilities. We even use it in place of traditional plastic linings in our hot cups so they are entirely made from renewable materials, unlike most regular hot cups.

Bamboo is a strong, woody perennial grass. It does not require re-planting and just keeps on growing once it is established. That means we can harvest often it without clear cutting land for new crops.

Bamboo also grows very fast, and we consider it a rapidly renewable material. Bamboo is extremely hard and dense and makes great foodservice products when you need something extremely strong.

We source our paper from FSC Certified forests and manufacturing facilities. We know trees are important resources, so we choose carefully when we buy paper to make sure it is grown, harvested and pulped to the highest environmental stewardship standards. We have only a few paper items, so we are smart and thoughtful about our choices. Paper is compostable and we line our cups with compostable PLA so that our final product is strong and also environmentally responsible.
